Mapping Chinese Investments in Australia

An article in the Courier Mail on April 10, 2014 written by Nick Perry reveals the Federal Government has been using a new online database to map Chinese investments in Australia. The resource is going to be turned into an app making it a fast and efficient way for Australians to track Chinese investment movements on a free trade agreement with Beijing.

The soon-to-be app will allow Australians to access detailed analysis and animated info graphics of Chinese investments in Australia by year, industry, geography, dollar value and investor type. This information will be valuable to Aussies looking to purchase housing and farms.

So far the resource has recorded more than 180 deals worth $60 billion involving Chinese enterprises in Australia between September 2006 and December 2013. You can read the full article here.
