New Minister for Immigration and Citizenship – Hon Brendan O’Connor MP

This week Prime Minister Julia Gillard has announced a reshuffle of her cabinet resulting in a change to the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio with a new Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, the Hon Brendan O’Connor MP, who was sworn in last Monday.

Formerly overseeing Small Business, Housing and Homelessness, Minister Brendan O’Connor replaces the Hon Chris Bowen MP, who has taken on retiring Senator the Hon Chris Evans role as Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Science and Research, as well as Minister O’Connor’s Small Business duties.
