Australian Capital Territory updated Skilled Occupation List
The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has released its updated skilled occupation list (SOL), and several occupations that were closed previously, have now been opened for state nomination. This updated list proves that Canberra is opening up its doors to skilled migrants.
Before lodging an application for nomination, it is highly recommended that you obtain specific migration advice relevant to your individual circumstances from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection or a Registered Migration Agent.
The ACT Skilled Migration Program is managed by the Small Business and Skills (SBS) area in Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development, a Directorate of the ACT Government.
The Skilled – Nominated (190) visa is a points-based visa for skilled workers who are nominated by a state or territory. To see the full Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Occupation List please click here.
Applying for a Skilled Visa
Remember the ACT nomination is NOT a visa application; it can only assist you in meeting the requirements for the visa.
To apply for an Australian visa you must apply to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP), the Australian Government agency which manages all visa applications and the approval process for all migrants to Australia.
All potential migrants, including those who are nominated by a state or territory government, must record their details through a SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI).
